Me, Myself & I, a self-empowering foundation, was established to strengthen the minds of the youth in Cleveland. With interactive methods provided, teens have the opportunity to openly discuss the issues they face daily. Me, Myself & I also offers solutions to increase confidence and self-esteem levels for teens, which will allow them to transition into powerful young adults.
On May 31, 2015, Me, Myself & I will host its first kids runway show to benefit 10-year-old, Janiyah Johnson, who lost her family in a tragic event that took place last November in Cleveland, Ohio. Janiyah’s mother, Sherita Johnson, who was pregnant, and her brother, Ja’Rio Taylor, were three amongst five people who were taken away in a quintuple homicide on East 92nd Street. Janiyah Johnson was shot during the altercation, but survived the tragedy.
Me, Myself & I would like to encourage attendees to come out and support the Johnsons, as they try to raise proceeds for the family. The show will consist of local salons and stylists amongst the Cleveland area creatively expressing their talent amongst 60 youth participants. Doors open at 6:00p.m and the show begins promptly at 7:00p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) located on 11400 Euclid Avenue. The youth hair show is being coordinated by Element13 (www.elmnt13.com), event management and marketing firm.
