NBA All-Star Weekend 67 for us truly exemplified the phrase booked and busy. Karen Civil, DJ Steph Floss and DJ Meel took All-Star Weekend by storm as we aided them in booking management and provided onsite management for a combined total of nine events over a span of three days.
The weekend kicked off on Wednesday with onsite management for Karen as she participated in the filming of an Under Armour campaign for the release of the Hovr — their latest shoe that has cushioning technology with a zero-gravity feel. After capturing a full day of behind the scenes footage, we ended the night at the Hovr release party with a special appearance by grammy-nominated rapper Aminé.
Thursday evening commenced with a stop at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel as Karen made an appearance at New Balance’s pastel collection launch before concluding the night at NeueHouse where she hosted a private dinner party for the premiere of BET’S Death Row Chronicles — a docu-series that highlights and includes never-before-seen footage, a firsthand interview with someone who witnessed Shakur’s murder in 1996 and more. Simultaneously, DJ Meel DJ’d a private, star-studded pop-up dinner at Carbone hosted by Maverick Carter and Steve Stout.
With little to no sleep, we prepared for Friday’s activations. With an early start at 10a, we headed downtown to Trillfit’s “Brunch & Burn” event where Karen spoke on “resilience to the core” amongst co-panelists Vanessa Simmons and Amber Grimes. Immediately following the brunch, we ventured over to Foot Locker’s House of Hoops Hollywood to catch DJ Meel on the ones and twos at Air Jordan’s event. We topped off the night at OHM nightclub with tunes by DJ Steph Floss and a performance by Gucci Mane.
Our booking expertise and onsite management slowly came to an end Saturday with DJ Steph Floss providing the sounds for Mountain Dew’s NBA All-Star event with a live stage hosted by Kevin Hart and Terrence J. There were also appearances and interviews with a number of athletes including Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving and Bradley Beal. The finale for us was Saturday night as DJ Meel provided music for Klutch ASW “The Game Is Everything” private dinner and party with a room full of amazing people including LeBron James.
All in all, 2018 NBA All-Star was a success for our clients and we were happy to be of service to them. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
